St. George, Utah – The Rural Health Association of Utah (RHAU) is proud to congratulate Dr. Melissa J. Hinton, a respected healthcare leader and doctorally prepared nurse practitioner based in St. George, on being named a Fellow of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners® (FAANP). Fellowship is one of the highest honors awarded by the organization, recognizing nurse practitioners who have demonstrated sustained excellence in clinical practice, healthcare leadership, advocacy, and service to the profession.
The AANP Fellows program recognizes nurse practitioner clinicians and leaders who have made significant and lasting contributions to healthcare through clinical excellence, policy, education, research, and community service. Dr. Hinton joins a distinguished group of professionals dedicated to advancing healthcare and improving patient outcomes at the local, state, and national levels.

She has also dedicated her expertise to advancing healthcare quality, workforce development, and public policy through her leadership with the Utah Nurse Practitioners (UNP) organization and the Rural Health Association of Utah (RHAU). Through board and committee service, she has helped shape strategic priorities, mentor healthcare professionals, and advocate for policies that strengthen care for patients across Utah. A nationally recognized speaker, Dr. Hinton continues to influence healthcare policy and serves on numerous committees focused on improving the health and well-being of Utah communities.
The American Association of Nurse Practitioners® (AANP) is the largest professional membership organization for nurse practitioners of all specialties.
