Kasey grew up in Tropic, Utah, a small rural town located next door to Bryce Canyon National Park. He developed an early passion for healthcare, which led him to Southern Utah University where he completed a bachelor’s degree in biology with an emphasis in zoology. Upon graduating from SUU, Kasey shifted gears from pursuing a career as a healthcare provider to administration, and went on to complete dual master’s degrees in healthcare administration and public health from the University of Utah. He completed a third master’s degree in English and creative writing from Southern New Hampshire University.
Kasey has worked to support RHAU since 2016, and was named the first full time, fully dedicated Executive Director of RHAU in October 2024. He has a deep passion for rural Utah, and works fervently to support his friends and family who call those small communities home. A skilled grant writer, Kasey has overseen over 20 federal, state, and foundation grants during his career. He has become skilled at convening diverse partners to form collaborative solutions. Kasey is also an outspoken advocate for prevention, and innovative approaches to addressing rural health issues.
