Growing up in Panguitch, Utah helped me learn the importance of an active lifestyle and strengthened my appreciation for the outdoors. Balanced nutrition has helped fuel myself for camping, hiking, fishing, and much more! As a result, I have developed a passion for nutrition and decided to pursue a degree in Dietetics at Southern Utah University. In the future, I hope to specialize in Women’s Health or Lactation. In the fall, I will start the second year of my Master’s Degree. Receiving this scholarship will further my nutrition education and prepare me to be a dependable dietitian. I really appreciate it! Some things about me is I moved to Randolph my Senior year of high school, now while I was very nervous the small town and nice people made the move so easy as they all welcomed me with open arms and kind hearts. Because of them I was able to gain confidence to try out for the basketball team and helped lead my team to taking second at state basketball. During that season I would also go to indoor track meets and compete in those. Once basketball ended I started doing outdoor track and I am heading to state. From coming from Afton Wyoming which is another small town to moving to Randolph Utah it definitely helped me realize how much more I wanted to go into healthcare to be able to provide for such amazing people that have helped me become who I am today. I will also be applying to dental school this year. While working towards my degree this year I am also serving as a leader in multiple communities. I am currently the President of the Future Women in Dentistry club at the U, and also the vice president of recruitment for the sorority Phi Sigma Rho, which is a sorority for women in STEM and engineering.
