Utah Rural Health Clinic (RHC) Network
What is an RHC?
A Rural Health Clinic (RHC) is a federally certified healthcare facility designed to improve access to primary care services in rural and underserved communities. RHCs provide comprehensive outpatient medical care, preventive services, chronic disease management, and basic laboratory services, while emphasizing coordinated, patient-centered care. To qualify for RHC certification, clinics must be located in eligible rural areas with healthcare workforce shortages and meet specific federal staffing and quality requirements. The RHC program helps strengthen rural healthcare by increasing access to essential services and supporting the long-term financial sustainability of rural providers.
Utah Rural Health Clinic Network
The Utah Rural Health Clinic Network is a formalized network founded in July 2025 under the leadership of the Rural Health Association of Utah (RHAU). The Network was established to strengthen collaboration among Utah's Rural Health Clinics, improve access to resources, and advance the delivery of high-quality rural healthcare across the state. The Network is governed by a Board of Directors composed of representatives from each participating member organization, ensuring that every clinic has a voice in the Network's leadership and strategic direction. Operations are guided by formally adopted bylaws that establish the Network's governance structure, membership requirements, decision-making processes, and organizational responsibilities, creating a transparent and sustainable framework for collaboration and long-term success.
